At the beginning of 2025 I decided to do things a little differently and rather than big, full year goals I’m breaking them down month by month. And with that, monthly visions boards to make it a little more and dare I say intentional?
This came from a very detail oriented, granular goal planning for 2024 that left me feeling lesser than and overall, unsure of why I got so specific. LIFE HAPPENS! I know this in and out, so when I set such specific goals in 2024 I should have realized that I really was setting myself up a hard time, resulting in me being even harder on myself. Something I’ve committed to working on in 2025.
Each month I take some time to create a vision or mood board – however you want to phrase it – putting together photos, text and overall the feeling I want to create from each month. I do these digitally and physically in my journal – the journal is for fun and playing and the digital versions I use as my desktop and phone screen so I am constantly seeing the vision for the month. Visual osmosis – that’s what I’m calling it.
This month I’m focused on freshening up my morning routine because as a creature of comfort, I can often fall into a rut of doing the exact same thing and with that sameness, life starts to feel a little dull. March is for reclaiming my mornings and spicing it up a little – keeping to my rule of thirds, something for my mind, body and soul – but making sure each day feels a little different.
I’m *still* getting back into running, as they say slow and steady – right? I may have to sign up for a half marathon in order to not only stick with running throughout the year, but also to have a goal to work towards – and celebrate! Until then I refreshed my leggings with a new pair of my go-to’s and as the temperature rises I plan on getting a new pair of running shorts, or two!
Outside of those two main focuses for March, I’m going to continue my commitment to being more present by spending a weekend with two of my dear friends who I haven’t seen in over 3 years. I will also be entertaining them and hopefully myself, by trying to ski – or maybe snowboard – for the first time in 15 years. And as always, I will continue to listen to my body and give it what it needs – especially resting without guilt.
Below are my custom intentions for March – use them or leave them – but I hope in the least they inspire you to look at your year one month at a time and be more intentional each month.
